FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Answers for companies turning text into video with 4avatars: what an AI avatar is, how a script becomes a publish-ready video, how many languages you can generate in, whether you can use your own face and voice, how to update a video without changing its link, and how to export it to your course platform.

AI avatars and text to video

What is an AI avatar?
An AI avatar is a digital presenter that delivers your text to camera: it has a face, expressions, gestures and a synthesised voice synced to its lips. It is not an actor filmed for you but a generated character, able to deliver any script at any time without a new shoot. On 4avatars you either pick an avatar from the gallery or have one built on your brand identity.
How do I turn text into video?
Paste your script into the editor, pick an avatar and a voice, hit generate, and you get a video of the avatar speaking exactly your text. No camera, no microphone, no lighting and no actors involved. The editor works in scenes: each paragraph becomes a scene with its own background, headings and visuals.
Can I start from a document, a PDF or a slide deck?
Yes. Upload a document, a PDF or a deck and the platform splits it into scenes and drafts a narration script for each one. The drafted text stays fully editable before generation — you decide what gets said and in what order.
How long does generating a video take?
Generation runs in the cloud and usually takes a few minutes for a video a few minutes long; the time grows with the duration and the number of scenes. There is no delivery deadline to wait on and no studio availability to work around: you start the render and get notified when the video is ready. You can regenerate as often as you edit the script.
How many avatars can I use?
The gallery holds over 200 AI avatars across different ages, looks, outfits and presenting styles, so you can match your brand's tone. A subscription includes one avatar, the one you pick from the gallery, and it presents every scene of the video. If none of them fits, the Pro and Premium plans include a custom avatar built on your company's identity.
Can viewers tell the video is AI-generated?
The result looks like a presenter filmed in a studio, with even lighting and lip sync, but we do not claim it is indistinguishable from real footage. An attentive viewer may notice that the body language is more restrained than a person in front of a camera. In practice that matters little for training, tutorials or internal communication, where a clear message beats visual spectacle.

Voice, languages and translation

How many languages can I generate in?
You can generate in over 100 languages, with natural AI voices and lip sync in each one. Romanian is covered natively, as are the widely spoken languages used by companies with international customers. The voice is picked separately from the avatar, so the same presenter can speak several languages.
What does lip sync mean here?
It means the avatar's mouth movement is generated from the sounds of the language it speaks, not from a generic looping animation. The result is a presenter that genuinely appears to be saying the words — in English, in Romanian, and in whatever language you translate the video into.
Can I translate or dub a video I already made?
Yes. Pick the target languages and the platform regenerates the narration and the lip sync for each of them, from the same script and the same scenes. The translation stays editable: you can correct industry terms before the final render, so your company's technical vocabulary is right in every language.
Can I use my own face and my own voice?
Yes, through a custom avatar: you record a short reference clip of yourself or a colleague, with that person's explicit consent, and get an avatar that looks like them. Voice works the same way — it can be cloned from your own recordings, under the same consent. We do not build avatars or voices from anyone's likeness without their consent, and we do not allow impersonating public figures.
How is AI-generated content labelled?
Exported videos carry metadata marking the content as AI-generated, and in the editor you can add a visible notice on screen or in the description. We recommend stating plainly that the presenter is an AI avatar — it is fair to your audience and, for material published in the European Union, a transparency requirement under the AI Act. Our policy forbids using the platform to make it look like a real person said something they did not.

Brand, updates and distribution

Can I keep my brand logo, colours and fonts?
Yes. Upload your logo, colour palette, fonts and backgrounds into a brand kit, and every new video starts with them already applied. That way a clip made by someone in another department looks like the rest, with no identity guide emailed around.
Can videos be updated after publishing?
Yes, and the link stays the same. Fix the script, regenerate only the scenes you changed and publish a new version at the same address — anyone holding the link or embedding the video sees the updated version automatically. That is the practical difference from a classic shoot, where a changed procedure means another filming day.
Can I export for my course platform (LMS/SCORM)?
Yes. You can export a SCORM package for e-learning platforms, or the video as an MP4 file if you would rather upload it yourself. The SCORM package reports lesson progress back to the LMS, so you can see in your course platform who finished the module. Subtitles export separately as a file, for accessibility.
What data do I get on how a video is watched?
For videos shared by link or embedded in a page you see the view count, where viewers drop off and how many reach the end. This is most useful for training: a scene where half the staff abandons the video is usually a scene that is too long or unclear, not a general lack of interest.
Can I have the avatar speak directly on my website?
Yes. Beyond generated videos, an avatar can be switched on as an interactive presenter in your site's chat widget, speaking the replies instead of only showing them as text. Integration takes a few lines of code, and for the conversational side the platform connects natively to the 4chaty.net chatbot in the same ecosystem.

Account, rights and subscription

Who owns the rights to the generated videos?
The videos you generate are yours and you can use them commercially under the active plan. The gallery avatars and the AI voices stay licensed — you use them inside your own material, but you cannot resell them as standalone characters. A custom avatar built on the likeness of someone in your company is used only by your account.
How much does it cost?
The cost is a monthly or yearly subscription, and every plan includes a number of video generations per month, a number of avatars and a storage allowance; the full grid is on the pricing page. The subscription covers generation, the avatar gallery, voices in over 100 languages, the brand kit and hosting for published videos. For larger volumes you move up a plan, and storage can be topped up separately.
What happens to my videos if I cancel the subscription?
After cancelling you can no longer generate or regenerate videos, and the links we host stop being served. Files you already downloaded remain yours and can still be used under the licence in force at export time. We recommend downloading the final versions before cancelling, especially if they sit inside live courses.
What kind of support do I get?
Support runs through the channel in your account panel, with hands-on help on the first script, on choosing an avatar and on exporting to your course platform — that is where most questions come up. The documentation covers the scene editor, voices, translation, the brand kit, SCORM and website integration. Higher plans include dedicated assistance for recurring productions.
Can I produce videos for several clients, as an agency?
Yes. You can run a separate project per client from the same account, each with its own brand kit, and hand over access while keeping your administrator role. Terms for agencies, training providers and e-learning platform integrators are discussed through the contact page.
